CD Projekt Red facing four lawsuits, which have been combined into one big lawsuit
Cyberpunk 2077"s disaster still caries on, now CRPR facing a big lawsuit by investors who claim they were misled by the state and playability of the game. CDPR announced consolidating the lawsuits in a blog post.
They are facing 4 separate lawsuits which have been consolidated into one major lawsuit, "The court has consolidated the lawsuits and appointed a lead plaintiff. Following this consolidation, all four lawsuits will be subject to potential common court proceedings.", the blog post reads.
We only know about the two lawsuits as those have been well documented, one in December 2020 and the other one in January 2021, by investors who claimed they were misled regarding the state of the Cyberpunk 2077 on last-gen consoles. According to the lawsuits, the game is virtually unplayable on the current-gen consoles due to the bugs.
Not much is known about the other two lawsuits, they are not detailed in the post and are yet to be revealed by CDPR. CDPR has also said that they will take vigorous action to defend themselves after the second lawsuit was filed.
Although due to the horrendous release on Playstation 4 and Xbox One where the game was just unplayable, the game was relatively successful on PC, even with the bugs, and sold 13 million copies in the first few months, 424,000 copies in Australia itself.
