Epic apparently offered Sony $200 Million for Sony Exclusives on Epic Games Store

As we get more and more insights on Epic through the Epic v Apple trial, the more interesting things are just coming out, like in 2019 to 2020, Epic promised $1 billion in advances for exclusives, $115 million for Borderlands 3 itself, and now a new exhibit, which was again, AGAIN accidentally released, shows that Epic offered $200 million in advance to get first-party Playstation exclusives on the Epic Store exclusively.

Well, what was the aftermath of this deal? Well, we don't know what Epic and Sony arrived at, as the document was made before any agreement on this deal. Epic offered $200 Million for 4-6 titles, at a minimum guarantee as to

the minimum revenue Epic will guarantee the publisher will make with an Epic Games Store exclusive whether or not their game will sell or not.

Some Sony published games that have been released exclusively on Epic Store are ReadySet Heros and Predator: Hunting Grounds (It was released on Steam later that year, so not so exclusive anymore). And other Sony published games on the Epic Games store which are not exclusive are Horizon Zero Dawn and also the upcoming Days Gone, which will be on Epic and Steam. Now we don't know if the exclusive games are part of the $200 million deal, as $200M for just two games won't be a good offer and it also could be that those two games are a part of a bigger batch of Sony published exclusives coming to the Epic Games Store.

And we also don't know if Sony's Flagship games, Uncharted and God Of War games are coming to PC or not.

Anyways, the document also listed Microsoft and Nintendo. For Microsoft, Epic's initial talks turned up resistance, and also the head of Xbox Game Pass for PC didn't like what Epic was up to with its store, and also Microsoft sees Epic as a competitor with to sign games, so Microsoft backed up from the deal.

As for Nintendo games on the Epic Games Store, the document describes the idea as a "moonshot" and "non-starter", so maybe there was no attempt.

This Epic v Apple trial has revealed so much, by mistakes that is, even Apple uploaded a whole lot of information and documents that were not supposed to be released. And as new documents and reveals happens, we get to look at Epic more and more.
